To the Maritime Museum of British Columbia for the Restoration of the Vice Admiralty Courtroom.

This project restored the original 1889 Supreme Courtroom for the Province of British Columbia. The Courtroom houses previously unrecognized original Colonial furniture and fittings from the Colonial Legislative Buildings (the “Birdcages”), which were moved to this room after completion of the new Courthouse in 1889. Fittings were also reclaimed from Barkerville where they had been shipped in the 1960’s, and reinstated in their original locations as part of the restoration. Paint analysis was undertaken and replica light fixtures, draperies, plasterwork and woodwork were installed.

Stuart Stark and Robert Patterson (Stuart Stark Patterson and Associates) were the Heritage Consultants for this project.
